Darci Lynne Farmer, Grace VanderWaal and the Magic of America’s Got Talent.

It’s that time of the year again. No, not Christmas, Easter, or the fourth of July. It’s time for the live shows on America’s Got Talent! You say, so what? I say you’ve got to tune in. There is some incredible talent on this show. Really.

Let’s take a look at last year. If you’ve been living under a rock, then you haven’t heard of Grace VanderWaal. She was the twelve-year-old ukulele player for New York, who also writes and sings her own songs. Her voice is unique, not outstanding. However, it fits perfectly with her style and lyrical composition. Here is her first performance from last year’s show along with her performance in the finals.

68 Million Views. Remember, this is all original. She wrote it.

Some of the lyrics:

Your silly words
I won’t live inside your world
‘Cause your punches and your names
All your jokes and stupid games
They don’t work
No, they don’t hurt
Watch them just go right through me
Because they mean nothing to me

12 YEARS OLD! That is talent. Special. Very Special.

I admit I love these shows. I love to watch unheard of people display their talents and be so overwhelmed that I smile. And watch it over and over.

Which brings us to this year. This year brings America another twelve-year-old girl. She also sings very, very well. But she does it with her mouth closed. She’s a ventriloquist. I know what you’re thinking, but you’re wrong. I mean 31 million views in three months is pretty amazing.

She was put through to the live shows which were last week. And she came through with another killer performance. 5.5 million views in 6 days.

With the world the way it is, I need to see hope wherever I can get it. It’s young ladies like these that I find so refreshing.

Keep watching as Darci Lynne makes her way to the title. There are some amazing acts still left but I think with the quality of her singing is in itself amazing. But with her mouth closed, impossible.
